Guest Post Marathon: Wanted, 100 Guest Post Blogs!

I have decided to start writing as much guest posts as I can handle, and I thought: what better place to start than with my audience here on Pro Blogger Tips?

Any reader of my blog (well, almost) who wants a guest post can get one for the asking.

Frankly, have you heard something more insane than that?

I just want to do this as an experiment to see what happens when all my guest posts go off live at the same time. For one, I would want to see how this would impact on my SEO, and of course, traffic.

If you are a regular reader of this blog, I am sure you are used to the quality of posts I write. I hope that takes care of any fears that the volume of posts I am writing would lead to a reduction in post quality.

I am a freelance writer: this is what I do. While it is going to be challenging, I know it will also be fun.

To add a little perspective, you can check out my hire me page to see what I usually charge for guest post writing. For you, though, the guest post comes at $0.

So here is the deal: you get a great post from me. I get an editorial link from you.

Fair deal?

As a bonus, after the guest post marathon (guestathon, if you may), I will even publish a list of all the guests posts I have published and you will get a link from me.

Here is How You Fit In

To demonstrate that I am not just giving you content from a stack of pre-written guest posts, I have also added a fail-safe.

If you want to be a part of this experiment, provide me with:

  1. Your blog title and url (Required)
  2. What you would like me to write about (optional)
  3. Preferred post length (optional)
  4. An angle you would want me to write the post from (optional)

This is going to be fun, what do you say?

However, there is a small catch. To make this exercise worth my while I have to provide a few criteria. I would have loved to make this a free for all, but writing is hard work. More to that, I make hundreds of dollars writing for my clients, so if I am writing for free on your blog, I should at least get some link and traffic prospects.

  1. Your blog must be in my niche – By this I mean your blog should be in about blogging, freelance writing, small business, affiliate marketing and make money online niche. If your blog is in a different niche but you feel we can work something out, you can still reach out to me.
  2. Your blog must have at least an Alexa rank of 400k or a Google pagerank of 2 – Writing takes time, so there should be a small thing for me.

I won’t say no to a guest post unless:

  1. I have absolutely no idea what you are blogging about. I won’t write on quantum physics just because you ask me to.
  2. The post idea does not appeal to me at all. (Now this is highly unlikely, as there is always an interesting way to look at even the most saturated of topics).
  3. Your blog deals with something I don’t care to support (Think criminal activities … well, piracy).

Let’s go!

I will be refreshing my inbox, so you can be sure I will see your mail as soon as it pops in. :)

Okay, let’s do this!

    Hi Yeremi

I don’t fit into your eligibility criteria, but idea seems to be very innovative and at the same time very tedious.

    My best wishes to you.

    Thanks
    Sapna

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Sapna,
      Thanks for your comment.

Yes, carrying on guest posting at this level will take a lot of dedication. But I have given my word, and that is a great motivator! While your blog is relatively new, I notice you have a vibrant community, so yes, contact me with your guest and we will work something out.

  2. Innovative way to find blog’s for guest blogging I really like the idea, Yeremi. I’m actually new to your blog so I don’t think it would be nice for me to ask you to write for my blog as you already have mentioned that you want to write guest post for your regular readers. :P #JustKidding

Writing invitation in this way can ends up with good result. You don’t have to search for new blogs to write guest posts you will get all just with a published article. Nice!

PS you can write guest post for my blog if you wish. We have Write For Us page there for information though.

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Irfan,
      Thanks for your comment!

I am experimenting with the model to see how it goes. Of course, after the guestathon, I will publish a post here with data on how the experiment went.

Thanks for the offer. Please feel free to use the form below the post to leave me a guest post request. Thanks for stopping by.

Will be giving your blog a look-see soon…

  3. Hi Yeremi

Wow, that is going to be quite an undertaking on your part and a great asset to the lucky 100 blogs! That should definitely give a boost to your site.

Can’t wait to see how it goes for you and what all you will write about. How long does it usually take you to write a post? I find that for some of my sites it comes easy one day and another day it will take days to figure out what to write. Getting inspired with the right trend of thought, but I keep trying to write daily so that it will come easier to conjure up great content. Sometimes humorous and other times serious. It just depends how I see things from one day to the next.

    Best of luck,
    Mary

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Mary,
You can bet that this is a huge undertaking! I seriously hope it shall be worth my while.

Thinking of it again: 100 posts! Wow! ;)

My average turnaround time, it depends on my familiarity with the subject and the time of the day I am writing. When I am fresh, I write faster, naturally.

That said, some of my best posts were written within an hour.

Thanks for your comment and great to have you in!

  4. Ben says:

Hi Yeremi :) Great idea! I’ve sent you a request. :)

  5. Adrienne says:

You are very brave Yeremi especially if you intend to reply to ALL the comments on ALL the posts you write. If they go out on the same days then you are going to be overwhelmed.

But, sounds like a challenge you are ready to take on and I have no doubt you’ll do a fabulous job!

I’ll look forward to reading some of the posts you share and I’m going to say right now, good luck!

    Have a spectacular week!

    ~Adrienne

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Adrienne,
You are right about one thing there, I am FEELING brave. If I had any good sense, I would have thought twice before committing to a mammoth project like this. I now know what a guinea pig feels like in a lab. :)

No, I am not publishing the guest posts on the same day. It would have been even more insane to synchronize them that way but that will take a lot of logistical prepping. Let me leave that length to someone even more insane than myself. (Think Maneesh Sethi)

I am writing these guest posts on a first come first serve basis. How soon they go LIVE would completely depend on the blog owners and their publishing schedule.

I am looking at the impact cross-traffic generated by the guest posts will have on both my traffic and SEO. I think this will be an interesting experiment and I can’t wait to have the numbers…

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Adrienne,
Aha’! Going through my post again I can see the ‘guilty’ sentence: “I just want to do this as an experiment to see what happens when all my guest posts go off live at the same time. ”

What I meant to say was that those guest posts would go LIVE in the same time range.

Thanks for your wise words! Putting 100 posts LIVE in a day can stretch even a blogging team to the seams.

  6. Hi Yeremi, great idea, think I might have to get on board! :-) Might even do a similar post to yours and offer out 100 free guest posts, I do have a guest post page that I set up where I add posts I have written where people on a first come first served basis can come and take a post to use on their own site as long as they leave it intact.

After your big marathon you might find that method a little less exhausting lol.

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Andi,
Great to have you with us!

Yes, I noticed your guest post page and think it is a good idea. This, though, takes guest post requests to another level.

I have started writing the first batch of guest posts.

  7. Michael Belk says:

Yeremi, if anyone can do it, it is you. I love your writing style and I know this will be successful. I like the innovative style and aspects to this idea.

That is what blogging is all about. In order to get your name out there, you need to do something out of the ordinary.

I am working on that project we discussed.

    Thanks again.

    • Yeremi Akpan says:

      Hi Michael,
Thanks for your kind words. With support from friends like you even big goals like this are ‘minified’.

Great to have you over here and thanks for the comment.

  8. Brilliant! Good luck–I’m sure you’re going to be burning the midnight oil for a while.

  9. Chadrack says:

    Hi Yeremi,

This is really what I call an adventure which I personally will not want to take though I truly love the adventurous! But all the same I think you can do it if you put your mind to do it. Just to see how this will turn out I opening my blog for you take up the challenge!

Have Your Say
